CHANGES TO THE CBD PROGRAMME
On 21 June 2016, a move was announced to lower the mandatory disclosure threshold on commercial office buildings from 2000 square metres to 1000 square metres. This expands the scope of the program to cover smaller office buildings and spaces and will come into effect from 1 July 2017 after a one year transition period.
Under the changes, a Building Energy Efficiency Certificate (BEEC) will be required whenever an office space of 1000 square metres or more is offered for sale or lease and a current NABERS Office Energy rating will need to be included in advertising. Purchasers and tenants of these buildings will now be informed with energy costs, deliver energy savings and reduce emission over the next five years.
Realserve can conduct your space survey to provide necessary information for the basis for these ratings. Our lettable area plans care created to the Property Council Australia guidelines and will give you a clear understanding of whether your office building or space meets the new requirements.
